Boulter has 25 years’ fmcg industry experience

Ritter Sport has appointed Christian Boulter as sales director for the UK and Ireland as it looks to accelerate growth in the region.

Boulter has 25 years’ fmcg industry experience and has held various sales and commercial roles at Kraft Foods, Britvic, Campbell’s and Symington’s.

He has stepped into the role of sales director effective immediately, having joined Ritter Sport as an interim consultant in May.

With a “proven track record of building market-leading brands”, Boulter will focus on deepening Ritter Sport’s existing retail partnerships, expanding national distribution, and maximising brand visibility across grocery, convenience and out-of-home sectors.

“We’re in a strong position with grocery, especially in convenience formats, where we’ve already secured notable gains in Sainsbury’s Local and Tesco Express,” said Boulter.

“But there’s even more headroom in impulse-driven channels, where confectionery plays a critical role in shopper missions.”

Ritter Sport was “a brand with huge opportunity for growth”, said Boulter.

“We’ve built strong momentum, now the focus is scaling that success to unlock our full commercial potential.”

The appointment coincides with Ritter Sport’s 10th anniversary of operating in the UK this year.

In April, Ritter Sport claimed its Pistachio tablet was selling “over 100 units per store per week” in some Tesco stores as shoppers’ insatiable appetite for Dubai-style chocolate influenced confectionery sales.
