Morrisons is to take on four Portuguese wines from a new-to-market brand called Nós Somos.
Vinho Verde, Douro Red, Alentejano Red, and Alentejano White are produced by Portuguese winemaker Esporão and will be available in-store and online from early April 2026 (rsp: £10/75cl).
They had been “specially developed for the UK and tested in consumer research” and were “the perfect fit for young, adventurous UK wine drinkers”, said UK distributor Hatch Mansfield.
Despite Portugal being in the top 10 countries of origin in the UK off-trade [NIQ December 2025], there was “no single premium Portuguese wine producer recognised in the UK”, Hatch Mansfield claimed.
The Nós Somos brand had therefore been developed to target “those familiar with Portugal as a destination… seeking accessible, premium wine”, it added.
The range features wines from three of the main Portuguese wine producing regions – Minho (Vinho Verde), Duoro (Duoro) and Alentejano (Alentejo).
Nós Somos Vinho Verde was “a light, refreshing wine with citrus and tropical notes”, while Douro Red was “dominated by red fruits and a fresh, elegant palate”.
Alentejano Red, meanwhile, offered “notes of red fruits and wild berries”.
Rounding out the range, Alentejano White was “fresh and elegant” with “generous notes of white fruits and citrus”.
“Nós Somos marks a bold step forward for us – a range developed specifically with UK wine drinkers in mind, grounded in robust market and consumer insight,” said Katarina Luciakova, brand manager for Esporão at Hatch Mansfield. “Shoppers are increasingly open to exploring new origins, but want clarity and confidence when they do, so we’ve created a modern range that brings together distinct regional styles in a way that’s engaging and easy to navigate.
“By uniting three of Portugal’s most iconic regions under one contemporary brand, we’re proud to offer premium wines that make discovery feel exciting and deliver character, quality, and a strong sense of place.”
