KCS Cash & Carry has opened a new 30,000 sq ft depot in Croydon, marking the next step in its growth strategy.

Located at Segro Park, Croydon, the new site has been developed to serve independent retailers, foodservice operators and other trade customers.

The opening aligns with the wholesaler’s Vision 2030 ambition to achieve double-digit growth year on year and reinforces its commitment to expanding its reach in key markets.

KCS, which is a member of buying group The Wholesale Group, said Croydon was selected due to strong demand from the area’s Afro-Caribbean and broader multicultural retail market, alongside the opportunity to support a wide mix of independent businesses and foodservice customers.

The depot, which will trade from 8am to 7pm, will initially stock around 8,000 SKUs, with a particular focus on world foods, supported by a large chilled and frozen area.

“The new depot is designed to improve operational efficiency while increasing our distribution reach,” said KCS Cash & Carry director Chander Singh. “It is an important step in our growth plans and will help us support more customers across Croydon and the surrounding area.”

The Wholesale Group wholesale development manager Kish Ramasamy added: “KCS Cash & Carry’s new Croydon depot is a strong example of the ambition and investment we are seeing from members across the group.

“The opening strengthens KCS’s presence in an important market and will help the business support more retailers and foodservice customers with the range, value and service they need.”
