The co-branded innovation taps demand for ‘trending sour flavours’

Little Moons and Candy Kittens have teamed up to launch a co-branded mochi sorbet in response to fan requests on TikTok.

Inspired by Candy Kittens’ bestselling Sour Watermelon sweets, limited-edition Sour Watermelon mochi sorbet (rsp: £5/6x30g) features a smooth, watermelon-flavoured sorbet centre with a “sharp, sour hit”, wrapped in Little Moons’ signature soft rice dough.

According to Little Moons, the collaboration was sparked by requests from fans on TikTok, which led the brand to approach Candy Kittens co-founder Jamie Laing.

Innovation had accounted for 75% of frozen snacking category growth over the past two years, said Little Moons, citing NIQ data [104 w/e 13 June 2026]. As such, the NPD was designed to further “disrupt the frozen aisle and drive trial through flavour-led innovation”, it said.

“We knew our TikTok community would be delighted to see a sour watermelon-inspired sorbet, so we had no other choice. We had to approach Jamie Laing and make it happen,” said Vivien Wong, co-founder of Little Moons.

Laing added: “It’s hard to ignore the noise online, but when your community keeps asking for something, it’s pretty difficult to say no.

“This is something that feels fresh, exciting and honestly delicious, and bringing something completely new to the market has been a lot of fun.”

Katie Banford, senior buyer for frozen at Ocado Retail, said: “This product allows customers to shop a combination of two of our top-selling brands on site for a new freezer favourite.”

Little Moons unveiled Mini Moons, a range of even smaller mochi bites, in Mango & Passionfruit, Salted Caramel and Malted Chocolate, in March. In the same month, it added Lemon & Elderflower Refreshos.

This isn’t the first time Candy Kittens has teamed up with another supplier for a co-branded launch. Last April, it teamed up with Katjes stablemate Genius to launch rocky road.

In 2022, Candy Kittens teamed up with BrewDog to launch Raspberry & Guava New England IPA, inspired by its Gourmies sweets.
