Independent drinks wholesaler LWC Drinks has acquired Wigan Beer Company, a long-established drinks wholesaler serving pubs, bars, restaurants and hospitality venues across the northwest.
The acquisition, which completed on 1 August, also includes Wigan Beer’s Keegans operation in Holyhead.
Under the new partnership, LWC said its business, in combination with Wigan Beer and Keegans, would create a stronger independent route to market across the northwest and north Wales, protect local relationships and customer service, and provide access to an “unrivalled product range”.
For the remainder of 2026, both Wigan Beer and Keegans will continue to operate from their existing sites to ensure continuity for customers and colleagues.
From 2027, LWC will work to integrate the Wigan Beer operation into its Knowsley and Leyland depots. Keegans will continue to operate from its Holyhead site for the foreseeable future.
