Pukka has unveiled its first lamb pie as part of a major autumn NPD push.
The Lamb, Pea & Mint Pie combined “minced lamb and sweet garden peas with a rich minty gravy” to recreate the “flavours of a much-loved Sunday roast”, said Pukka.
It has landed in Sainsbury’s, Ocado and Iceland, and will roll out in Asda from 29 October (rsp: £2.50/205g).
“Sunday roast and pie night are two of Britain’s great comfort-food occasions, so bringing them together felt like the perfect fit,” said Isaac Fisher, CEO of Pukka.
It comes as part of a raft of NPD launches from the brand including an expansion to its slices range. It has launched a Mexican Cheese Slice, which combines mature cheddar cheese with potato, onion, peppers and chillies, wrapped in puff pastry.
It will launch exclusively in Tesco from 12 October (rsp: £1.75/140g).
The slices range was now worth £7.6m after volume sales grew 4.2% over the past year, said Pukka, citing NIQ data.
The brand, meanwhile, has also added a Creamy Chicken Pie, following the success of last year’s Creamy Pepper Steak Pie launch, which had generated £1.5m in incremental category spend, said the brand [NIQ 52 w/e 5 September 2026].
The Creamy Chicken Pie will roll out in Morrisons, Tesco, Ocado and Asda next month (rsp: £2.50/205g).
“We already know Pukka fans love a chicken pie, so this is about taking a real favourite and turning the creaminess right up,” said Fisher. “Creamy Pepper Steak showed us there’s a big appetite for richer twists on classic recipes, and we think Creamy Chicken has all the makings of another proper full-on flavour crowd-pleaser.”
Pukka has also expanded its 500g ‘The Big One’ range with a new Chicken & Bacon pie (rsp: £5/500g), while its existing Chicken & Gravy Pie is now also available in the larger format (rsp: £5/500g). The former will roll out in Asda on 22 October, while the latter has launched in Sainsbury’s ahead of wider distribution in Ocado, Morrisons and Asda next month.
Pukka backs charities
Elsewhere, Pukka’s Chicken & Mushroom Pie has received a pink makeover as part of Asda’s Tickled Pink campaign, with 17p from every pack sold donated to the retailer’s breast cancer charity partners (rsp: £2.50/205g).
For Christmas 2026, Pukka’s Festive Pie will return, with 10p from every pie sold donated to Young Lives vs Cancer.
The pie features chicken, pork stuffing, sausages, bacon, seasonal veg and cranberries in a meaty gravy, encased in puff pastry.
It will land in Asda next month, followed by Ocado and Morrisons in November, and Iceland in December (rsp: £2.50/205g).
Fisher added: “Autumn is when pies really come into their own, so we’re going big. Seven launches across individual and sharing pies, as well as on-the-go slices, gives shoppers more reasons than ever to come back to the fixture – and retailers plenty of opportunity to make the most of peak pie season.”
The launches come after Pukka dropped its orange boxes last month in favour of recipe-specific coloured packs.
