The NPD offered chocolatey flavour and ‘a unique, zesty twist’

Baileys has added a co-branded Chocolate Orange Irish Cream Liqueur with Mondelez-owned chocolate brand Terry’s.

The indulgent boozy tipple (rsp: £16.50/50cl) will land on the shelves of major retailers tomorrow (16 September), with the date marking 100 days until Christmas.

It would help drive seasonal sales, with both brands “synonymous with the festive period”, said Baileys.

Last year, more than two bottles of Baileys and two Terry’s Chocolate Oranges were sold every second during Christmas time, the brand noted, citing CGA and NIQ data.

“We have a strong record of driving sales with our innovation – Baileys Belgian Chocolate Irish Cream Liqueur has been a massive hit, generating incredible results for our customers,” said Charlotte Gibbon, category marketing director for gins, Baileys & Pimm’s at Diageo. “We’ve taken this to the next level by partnering with Terry’s.

“Baileys x Terry’s Chocolate Orange gives consumers the chocolatey flavour we know they love while adding a unique, zesty twist. We can’t wait to see the reaction from our fans and we’re confident it will be a big hit.”

The NPD also marks the first time Terry’s has entered the booze category.

“We’re always looking for new ways to surprise and delight our fans, and this collaboration with Baileys does just that,” said Lorène Decam, senior marketing manager for Terry’s. “This collaboration brings together the unmistakable flavour of Terry’s Chocolate Orange with the indulgent creaminess of Baileys, creating a deliciously nostalgic treat that’s perfect for seasonal celebrations.

“We’re thrilled to be entering the alcohol aisle for the first time and offering shoppers a new way to enjoy the taste they love.”
