Darryl Cripps

Cripps has been with the business since 2022

Maison Ferrand UK has appointed Darryl Cripps as its new managing director.

Cripps steps into the role four years after joining the distributor then known as Identity Drinks as its UK on-trade manager. He was promoted to the role of head of sales in July 2024 when the business was acquired by Maison Ferrand.

He had played “a key role in strengthening the company’s on-trade presence, expanding distribution, and elevating the visibility of its premium portfolio across the UK”, Maison Ferrand UK said in a statement.

He succeeds Matthieu Gouze, who has transitioned to the role of commercial director for EMEA-APAC at Maison Ferrand.

“Darryl’s promotion reflects the impact he has made on the UK business and the strength of his relationships across the market,” Gouze said. “The UK demands energy, precision and a deep understanding of the trade, and we are confident he is the right leader to drive our next phase of growth.”

Cripps added: “This is an incredibly exciting moment for Maison Ferrand UK. We’ve built strong momentum over the past few years – not only through a standout portfolio, but through a highly capable team with complementary strengths, united by a shared ambition.

“My focus now is to build on that foundation – accelerating growth, deepening our partnerships, and continuing to challenge what premium spirits can look like in the UK.”

Maison Ferrand’s portfolio of brands includes Planteray Rum, Citadelle Gin, Ferrand Cognac and Mathilde Liqueurs.

It also distributes for partner brands including The Whistler and Boann Irish Whiskey, Adriatico Amaretto, Mamma Mia Limoncello, Koch Mezcal, Dos Hombres Mezcal and Kota Pandan Liqueur.
