Galbani has announced the launch of Burrata Minis and Mozzarella Basil Infusion to recruit new shoppers.

The Lactalis-owned brand said the launches would bring “format innovation with elevated flavour” as well as added convenience and product differentiation.

Burrata Minis (rsp: £3.25/6x30g) are made in Italy from mozzarella filled with cream, delivering a “rich yet delicate flavour”.

The brand said the SKU would give shoppers “a more accessible way to enjoy burrata in small portions, without compromising on quality or creating waste”.

The Mozzarella Basil Infusion is a “subtle twist on Galbani’s classic mozzarella” and infused with a natural basil extract.

The launch was “aimed at encouraging trial and adding interest to everyday meals” while also “tapping into summer occasions including barbecues and al fresco dining”.

Both products launch into Waitrose from 22 April, with the Minis also rolling out in Tesco from 26 May.

“This represents a significant investment in Galbani in the UK, supporting continued brand growth through TV advertising and the launch of two innovative products designed to expand usage and drive premiumisation within the category,” said Héloïse Le Norcy-Trott, group marketing director at Lactalis UK & Ireland.

“We’re seeing strong demand for products that combine quality, convenience and versatility, and these launches are designed to help retailers meet that need while unlocking more occasions for Italian cheese.”

Galbani is also investing £1.1m in an ATL campaign to build brand awareness and hero key products. The campaign includes Channel 4 sponsorship from April to November and 12 influencer-led recipe videos across social platforms.
