Each weighs 400g, costs £2.50, and cooks in under 10 minutes.
Katie Coleman, global licensing controller at AB World Foods, said they would “make it even easier to enjoy restaurant-inspired world cuisine at home”.
“Patak’s and Blue Dragon have built their reputations over decades by helping consumers enjoy authentic world flavours at home,” she continued. “This partnership with Pilgrim’s Europe allows us to build on that heritage in frozen ready meals, enabling the brands to reach consumers at new occasions and creating exciting new meal solutions that combine authenticity, quality and convenience.”
The Patak’s and Blue Dragon ranges will be manufactured and supplied by Pilgrim’s Europe from its Carrickmacross meals facility in Ireland, which is the largest frozen meals facility in Europe, with capacity to produce 2.5 million meals per week. It produces around 280 frozen meal lines – 97% of which serve the UK market.
“We bring together consumer insight, our chefs and product development teams, with the manufacturing expertise to take an idea through to national scale,” said Pilgrim’s Europe commercial controller Conor Lowry.
“Frozen is an exciting space for that kind of innovation,” he continued. “There’s a real opportunity to give shoppers greater variety and more exciting food experiences.
“Partnerships like this combine the strength of established brands with our category expertise to create something genuinely new for retailers and their customers.”
