Changing household sizes, different taste and more people eating alone, combined with growing awareness of food packaging and waste, inspired the pack design

Sausage brand Triples has launched its first line of Porky sausages into 700 Tesco stores.

The sausages (rsp: £2/200g) are high in protein with 29g per pack, are gluten-free and are made up of 85% British, Red Tractor assured pork.

The also have a clean ingredient list with no artificial colours, flavourings or preservatives.

Triples, as the name suggests, come in packs of three and are packaged with 50% less plastic compared with standard packs.

The unique shape and brightly coloured packs brought “serious standout on supermarket shelves”, the brand said.

The design had been inspired by changing household sizes, different taste and more people eating alone, combined with growing awareness of food packaging, it said.

Brand founder Francesca Wyatt, also MD of Porky Whites, said she “wanted to create a sausage brand for the TikTok generation”.

“Three really is the magic number,” Wyatt added. “It’s just the right number for a single serving at mealtimes. That means more freedom, more flexibility and less food wastage for today’s consumer.

“It’s also a great-tasting sausage.”
