Vivera has extended its Protein Bites range with a Thai SKU launching into Sainsbury’s on 7 May.

It joins Tex Mex and Garden Greens Protein Bites, which launched for Veganuary.

The Thai bites (rsp: £2.85/180g) are made of vegetables including white cabbage, carrot, onions and edamame beans with a blend of herbs and spices to create the Asian flavour, including coriander, lemongrass and lemon leaf.

They also contain grains and legumes, making the launch rich in protein, fibre and low in saturated fats.

“We are changing the language with this launch,” said marketing director Karin Lowik. “We are no longer talking about replacing meat, but instead about enriching your meal.

“You enhance and improve a meal without meat with a tasty fibre-rich protein bite which makes you feel full for longer.’’

With this launch, the brand said it was attempting to offer consumers something that did not resemble meat but rather emphasised the taste of vegetables, grains and legumes.

The brand said the launch offered “endless” possibilities as a snack, to add to wraps or salads or alongside rice.

Vivera Protein Bites come in packs to serve two people and can be cooked in five minutes in the oven.
