Jacob’s has partnered with Frank’s RedHot to launch a trio of co-branded snacks inspired by its Original sauce.
It has rolled out limited-edition variants of Mini Cheddars, Crinklys and Bites. The Mini Cheddars and Crinklys lines are available in 150g sharing bags (rsp: £2), with a 90g pricemarked pack at £1.25 available for independent retailers. Bites come in a 125g sharing box (rsp: £2).
They have rolled into wholesale depots, convenience stores and multiple retailers.
“We know that the UK’s love of spice is here to stay, particularly among young snackers,” said Jacob’s marketing manager Kate Stokes.
“As shoppers continue their hunt for bold and exciting flavour innovations, we’re excited to kick things up a notch with Frank’s RedHot, introducing three of our delicious baked snacks in their spiciest form yet.”
Rachel Pitman, head of EMEA partnerships and ecommerce at Frank’s RedHot, added: “This partnership elevates every snacking occasion by taking taste up a notch and, as demand for bold flavours continues to grow, this launch presents an exciting opportunity for retailers to drive incremental sales and attract flavour-seeking shoppers.”
They join a raft of spicy snacks launched by rival brands over recent months. PepsiCo, for instance, added limited-edition ‘Flamin’ Hot or Not?’ sharing packs, for Doritos Chilli Heatwave 163g and Walkers Max Sticky BBQ 130g (from £2.25) at the end of June. Launched in partnership with Netflix’s Squid Game, the packs contain several extra spicy crisps, challenging shoppers to take on a “bold game”.
Earlier this week, PepsiCo unveiled coated peanuts range, That’s Nuts, which will debut with six variants including Doritos Chilli Heatwave and Doritos Flamin’ Hot.
Meanwhile, free-from snacking brand Eat Real teamed up with Belazu last month to launch limited-edition Spicy Rose Harissa & Creamy Yoghurt Hummus Chips.
