Oatly has expanded its “ever-growing world of matcha” with the launch of a Strawberry Matcha Latte line.
Available now in Sainsbury’s and Ocado (rsp: £2.25/one litre), the oat drink giant said its new line responded to shifting habits around cold drinks, especially among the “matcha-curious and matcha obsessed”.
The SKU comes in a chilled, ready-to-drink format and is described as “sweet and creamy at the same time”. It had a “fruity tang of strawberry and the earthy roundness of oats and matcha, alongside a subtle hint of vanilla flavour”, Oatly said.
The brand recommends the 100% plant-based SKU should be served “cold over ice”, but it can also be used warm “in creative drinks recipes”.
“Shifts in café culture and consumer behaviours are driving an increasing demand for customisable beverages and new drinks trends beyond hot coffee,” said Oatly UK and Ireland GM Bryan Carroll.
He added: “Last year’s Oatly Matcha Latte remains one of the category’s bestselling products.
“Building on this demand, we developed the Strawberry Matcha Latte to expand our matcha offering, reinforcing accessibility and ease for those looking for plant-based alternatives without the compromise of excellent taste.”
Strawberry Matcha Latte is available in Sainsbury’s and Ocado.
