Tom Parker Creamery has expanded its added value milk range with the launch of Golden Milk (rsp: £1.80/500ml).

Available at Waitrose and Ocado from 21 October, the line is “gently spiced” and made with free-range whole milk, turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper and honey.

Inspired by ‘haldi doodh’ – literally ‘turmeric milk’ – a drink combining warm milk and turmeric from south Asia, the line has been developed for consumers looking for products supporting “holistic health and wellness”.

The Somerset-based business pointed to turmeric’s anti-inflammatory qualities and support of healthy liver function, as well as cinnamon’s association with aiding digestion and a healthy metabolism.

The line comes in a glass bottle with recyclable paper labels.

It pointed to turmeric’s anti-inflammatory qualities and support of healthy liver function, as well as cinnamon’s association with aiding digestion and a healthy metabolism.

“It’s a simple, delicious drink that can be enjoyed chilled straight from the fridge or gently warmed, opening up another occasion for whole milk beyond the traditional breakfast table,” said Tom Parker Creamery CEO Rob Yates.

It builds on the launches of its Vitamin-Enriched Whole Milk and Bedtime Milk in the value-added milk category in which the brand is aiming to ”carve out a distinctive position”.

The development also reflects a wider consumer shift towards “whole foods, recognisable ingredients and minimally processed products,” the brand added.

“Consumers are increasingly looking for more from everyday food and drink, but at the same time they want products made with natural ingredients they recognise,” Yates added. “We think dairy is brilliantly placed to respond to both trends.”
